Massimo Medri lives and works in the town of his birth at the heart of Italy’s wine making district. An ancient hilltop village, Bertinoro commands breath-taking views; to the east, the populated flatlands that span ten kilometers to the Adriatic Sea and to the west, the beautiful blue rolling hills that stretch towards distant Tuscany.

Bertinoro’s pine and cypress avenues, its rich vine and olive grooves, have inspired Massimo’s work and his close relationship with stone and wood.

Design for life
Massimo is a highly skilled craftsman and a pure artist with twenty years experience designing and making hand crafted artistic wood floors. His approach to design is instinctive and organic due to his experience and his intimate relationship with his material.

Before Massimo puts pen to paper, his intricate yet simple geometric ideas for each unique wood floor, have already taken form in his mind. He then sketches a structural drawing plan. From this he begins to choose wood that compliments and enhances his design, he then measures and with skilled precision cuts out each individual wood shape and carefully places them in the form of the overall design. He then uses water based glue to fix each shape together, and chooses tile, marble or natural stone inlay variables to finish. The result is a unique artistic wood floor designed for life.
